GENERAL INFORMATION
The 2010 Annual South Carolina APCO / NENA Conference is scheduled for October 27-29 at the Hilton Resort, Myrtle Beach. Our aim is to provide a conference that enhances the professionalism of those who attend and assist them in understanding the issues facing 9-1-1 today.
The conference will provide an opportunity to meet with more than 300 of the leaders in 9-1-1 and emergency communications from around the state and region. There is an emphasis on educational and networking activities. You will have an opportunity to see the latest equipment and products available and to meet with the vendors to discuss your particular needs and concerns. It is the perfect time to discuss with other agency directors or managers about their experiences with certain products that you may be interested in for your agency.
This joint conference is designed to provide training for Center Managers and Supervisors, and front-line telecommunicators, educational sessions and networking opportunities for all involved in 9-1-1 emergency communications, and to address some of the major issues, as well as operational challenges, encountered in day-to-day activities. Training sessions and classes offered are based on current issues and topics that are of utmost importance to ensure compliance and safety for everyone. This conference provides a great opportunity for training that may not be available within your region, as all agencies are experiencing shortfalls and budgetary issues. Being among constituents from surrounding counties is the perfect atmosphere to brainstorm, share, and gather ideas that may benefit your agency.
Certificates of Completion will be given or mailed to the attendee for the Time To Act: The 911 Center and Missing Kids Course and the CEEP Critical Employee Emergency Planning class completed while at the conference.
Each attendee must be present for the entire session in order to receive a certificate.
